Will Brandon Ingram Suit Up Tonight? Pelicans Face Suns Amid Injury Chaos

The New Orleans Pelicans are set to host the Phoenix Suns on Thursday evening following a recent road trip. However, star forward Brandon Ingram remains a question mark for the game. Listed as questionable due to right plantaris tendonitis, Ingram joins several other Pelicans players on the injury report. Here’s the latest on his status.

Brandon Ingram’s Injury Status

Ingram has been sidelined since November 22, when the Pelicans suffered a close loss to the Golden State Warriors. His absence adds to the team’s growing list of injuries, which already includes Jose Alvarado (left hamstring strain), Jordan Hawkins (lumbar spine issue), and Zion Williamson (left hamstring strain), all of whom have been ruled out for this game. Meanwhile, Herbert Jones is also questionable with a right shoulder sprain.

On a brighter note, the Pelicans recently welcomed Dejounte Murray back after he missed significant time with a fractured hand. However, Murray is still finding his rhythm, struggling in his first two games since returning.

The Bigger Picture

The Pelicans, currently sitting at 4-18, have been plagued by injuries throughout the season, making it difficult to compete in the loaded Western Conference. While they are not entirely out of the playoff picture, the uphill battle ahead is steep.

As for their opponents, the Phoenix Suns will also be missing a key player, with Kevin Durant sidelined due to an ankle injury.
