Former Sydney Roosters star Luke Keary has raised concerns about Hull KR’s new signing, Jared Waerea-Hargreaves, and his ability to maintain discipline in the upcoming 2025 Super League season. Known for his aggressive playstyle, Waerea-Hargreaves brings a long disciplinary record to Hull KR, sparking speculation about potential challenges under the stricter Super League regulations.
Keary, now set to play for Catalans Dragons, reflected on Waerea-Hargreaves’ past suspensions, notably an incident during the 2021 Rugby League World Cup where the Kiwi prop faced a lengthy ban for dangerous play. Speaking on James Graham’s The Bye Round podcast, Keary expressed hope but acknowledged the likelihood of disciplinary trouble for his former teammate.
Despite the concerns, Waerea-Hargreaves remains optimistic as he embarks on his Super League journey, joining a Hull KR team eager to make a strong impact next season.
